Airport CEO is a 2D Tycoon and management game in development for PC and Mac where you take the seat as a CEO of your own airport. You will build the airport’s infrastructure with everything from runways and taxiways, gates and tarmac to constructing terminals with check-in, security, restaurants and shopping.

Bagscan is probably bottlenecking some, so consider adding more relative to your other scanners. Personally, I use a 1:1:2 ratio and it works, but there are other philosophies (Dr.Acula has a good lane plan, too). Assign your machines to each other in lanes to maximize throughput efficiency. And if you're running XL gates along with others and that's your only security zone.add more lanes. That's a really lean count for a larger airport.It's also worth noting that if you're using remote bagscans, the machines slow down as more of them are assigned to the same monitoring desk.
Keep it to no more than about five for best results. (Just from my observations; that may not be the optimal number.). Not sure if it's relevent as I don't know if you're playing the beta versions.
I'm playing vanila right now, and I've had to go to a 2-2-8 for my security to keep it from getting overwhelmed at the body scanners. If I don't, the bottleneck appears at the bodyscanners where I'll have an extra large crowd waiting to get through and then pretty much freezing at that point. My next build, besides the moneymaker I submitted, is going to go to a 4-4-20 to eliminate more of the bottleneck. The other thing I noticed is if I have 2 different baggage scanners assigned to a body scanner (trying to see if I could overlap coverage, the sims will pile onto one body scanner and ignore the rest. So you had four times the throughput rate heading into the machine, so it was pretty much doomed to a massive backup. Realistically, there should never be multiple bagscans feeding anything; whether it's a metal detector or a bodyscan, the best any bagscan can do is keep pace, and even then it'll probably start slowly overtaking the bodyscanner.
A 1:1:2 ratio or greater (like the 1:1:5 you have listed) is the only way to avoid bottlenecks going into bodyscan. I've just found through experimentation that you don't want multiple sources feeding a common destination - two ID checks going to the same bagscan, for example - since it's prone to load balancing issues. One source feeding multiple destinations works fine, but multiple sources to a common destination seems to produce highly variable results. Try linear paths without crossovers - ID check - bagscan - bodyscanners - and don't let lanes share equipment.
I've found repeatedly if I don't make the decision of where to go for them, pax get all kinds of mixed up and bottlenecks of all sizes start to appear. So it may be worth programming non-overlapping linear security paths to see if that wipes out the remainder of the bottlenecks.
My setup consist of having ID checks in the front, following with 2 rows bag scanner spaced 1 apart from each other the full width behind the ID checks, and body scanners in a 3 in a row config behind the scanners, so if you look at the airport (from the other post, sorry, I'm on my mobile rn. I'll edit this once im on my computer)It has good flow, it's better now, I found the problem being pax all going to the same lanes instead of spreading out, I sorta split my ticketing right above to parts and assign them to gate, just to force them to stay spread.The game a changed a lot since I last played few years ago (before the graphics improved from childish and solid to animation and shading).
